The Senate has advanced a measure to limit any U.S. military campaign in Venezuela, voting 52 to 47 to bring the war powers act resolution to the floor for a final vote, Punchbowl News reports.
Five Republicans — Sens. Rand Paul, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Todd Young and Josh Hawley — joined with all Democrats, including Sen. John Fetterman, to support the push.
It’s a rebuke of the administration’s actions in Venezuela and President Donald Trump’s vow to remain in control of the country for years.
