“Independents across the country are lining up to run in House and Senate races, hoping to ride voters’ frustration with both parties to the halls of the Capitol,” Politico reports.
“It’s easier said than done, and it’s not the first time independents or third parties have thought this is the year they’d finally pull it off. It’s been 20 years since an independent was elected to a House seat.”
“Two more independents — Alaska’s Bill Hill and Wisconsin’s Mike Thurow — launched campaigns last week, joining a growing field of independents across House and Senate races, many in deep-red areas held by Republicans.”
