Bloomberg: “If Massie loses, it will add an exclamation point to the president’s revenge tour. It will also up the ante for Texas Senator John Cornyn and state AG Ken Paxton, who have a runoff May 26 and have vied for Trump’s endorsement.”

“And it adds another layer of fear for any Republican considering breaking with Trump on major issues (three GOP senators and three GOP House members voted last week to end the Iran war, for example).”

Said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC): “You can disagree with President Trump, but if you try to destroy him, you’re going to lose because this is the party of Donald Trump.”

Taegan Goddard is the founder of Political Wire, one of the earliest and most influential political web sites. He also runs Political Job Hunt, Electoral Vote Map and the Political Dictionary.

Goddard spent more than a decade as managing director and chief operating officer of a prominent investment firm in New York City. Previously, he was a policy adviser to a U.S. Senator and Governor.
