“In a massive show of bipartisanship, 86 senators voted to move forward with a Russia and Iran sanctions bill championed by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham,” Axios reports.
“The vote came hours after senators gathered to honor Graham’s memory, and immediately following a closed-door meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.”
Graham spent months trying to move this bill through a reluctant White House. In the end, his death may have supplied the political momentum that his negotiations could not.
