“As Democrats look beyond the midterms and lay the groundwork for 2028, some immigration policy hands are closely studying how White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller operates,” Politico reports.
“In the words of Ken Salazar, a former senator and Interior secretary who served as the Biden administration’s ambassador to Mexico, presidents need someone to take on a central leadership role on immigration like the ruthless, but whipsmart, Miller occupies for President Donald Trump.”
Said Salazar: “At least on how they are conducting the choir, they’re conducting in a very effective way. Even though we can disagree with them, at least they’re conducting the choir. It didn’t happen with the past administration.”
