Cook Political Report: “The contest between Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers has seen plenty of drama over the past 72 hours, with El-Sayed’s former primary challenger, Haley Stevens, making a shocking cross-party endorsement of Rogers on Sunday after being snubbed by the Democratic nominee.”
“But our decision to move this race was in the making before the endorsement fracas, and it did not change our view. We are basing our final ratings change on new public and private polling, including a New York Times/Siena poll over the weekend that put the race at an 11-point spread for El-Sayed. Operatives on both sides don’t expect the race to be a double-digit blowout, but the Times survey notably also showed that El-Sayed has shored.”
