A new UMass Lowell/YouGov poll in Pennsylvania finds Kamala Harris edging Donald Trump, 46% to 45%.

In the U.S. Senate race, Sen. Bob Casey (D) leads challenger David McCormick (R), 48% to 39%.

Playbook: “There are 19 days left in the election. And with no debate and Donald Trump playing it safe, Harris is showing that she understands she needs to take more risks in order to control her campaign narrative — and, despite some hiccups, she managed to do that.”

“Yes, there was something of an ink-blot quality to the interview: Republicans thought it was a disaster for her (see Trump’s own reaction), and Democrats thought it was a pugilistic triumph.”

“But set aside those knee-jerk responses, and you can see the bigger truth: This was a snapshot of a presidential candidate who knows she has work to do to close the deal, and is willing to take chances, play aggressively and, frankly, get comfortable with the street-fight mentality she’ll need to eke out a win.”

Washington Post: “The interview with Fox chief political anchor Bret Baier, which also featured a testy back-and-forth on immigration, represented a calculated gamble for Harris, given Fox’s role as a conservative-leaning network that is one of the top news sources for Republicans.”

New York Times: “From the outset, Mr. Baier seemed determined to knock Ms. Harris off her talking points — often by echoing those of Mr. Trump.”

“It took him less than 20 seconds to interrupt her for the first time. Ms. Harris, who is known as an effective practitioner of the filibuster, had hardly even begun to answer his opening question. That pattern continued for much of the interview.”

The Hill: “Harris and Baier sparred from the outset when Baier asked about the number of migrants who have entered the country illegally since the start of the Biden administration. The Fox News host followed up several times with questions related to immigration, a subject that took up nearly half the airtime.”

A new Fox News poll finds Donald Trump is ahead of Kamala Harris in the presidential contest, 50% to 48%.

However, Harris is ahead by 6 points among voters from the seven key battleground states.

Donald Trump tried to launder a new hush money payment to Stormy Daniels to silence her weeks before the 2024 election, MSNBC reports.

Daniels did not make a deal with Trump.

“When Rep. Seth Magaziner (D-RI) walked into his polling place to vote in last month’s primary election, he did not see his own name on the ballot,” WPRI reports.

“That’s because the 41-year-old Democrat is not living in Rhode Island’s 2nd Congressional District — which he has represented for nearly two years — despite pledging to move his family there during his successful campaign for the seat in 2022.”

“But Fox News did not disclose that the female audience it selected for the event was packed with local Republican supporters and the network edited its broadcast to remove some of their vocal advocacy of Trump.”

Sen. J.D. Vance explicitly said “no,” he does not believe Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, NBC News reports.

Said Vance: “I’ve answered this question directly a million times: No. I think there are serious problems in 2020. So, did Donald Trump lose the election? Not by the words that I would use.”

“Donald Trump on Wednesday repeated his false claim that Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, are eating their neighbors’ pets, using a town hall with undecided Latino voters to prop up misinformation that has been rejected by local and statewide leaders from both parties,” CNN reports.

“Asked by an audience member if he truly believed the story, Trump insisted he was only ‘saying what was reported.'”

“Kamala Harris is intensifying efforts to convince Republicans to cross the aisle and back her campaign in a bid to expand her electoral appeal with less than three weeks to Election Day,” Bloomberg reports.

“The vice president’s campaign has been buoyed by the recent endorsement of former Representative Liz Cheney and the support of other Republicans opposed to Donald Trump, developments her team sees as bolstering their bid to win over more GOP voters in battleground states than prior Democrats.”
