Roger Stone Suggests Using ‘Armed Guards’ During Election

October 11, 2024 at 6:51 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

In undercover audio, the Trump ally and notorious Republican “dirty trickster” Roger Store suggests bringing armed personnel to election locations in order to get the results they want, Rolling Stone reports.

Said Stone: “We have to fight it out on a state-by-state basis, but you have to be ready. When they throw us out of Detroit, you go get a court order, you come in with your own armed guards, and you, and you dispute it.”

The Republican Welfare State

October 11, 2024 at 6:41 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Republicans spent decades railing against welfare recipients. Now, they’re deeply reliant on them to win elections,” Axios reports.

“The explosion of people getting 25% or more of their income from government aid — and Republican reliance on their votes — vividly explains the rise of former President Trump and the remaking of the Republican Party.”

“Trump rose to power with the backing of the working class, then reoriented the party to focus on them as much as big business.”

“This helps explain the massive surge in government spending under Trump, his continued opposition to trade agreements, his scorn for GOP ideas to gut Social Security and Medicare, and his us-vs.-them rhetoric.”

Battle for the Swing States Is Too Close to Call

October 11, 2024 at 6:37 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

New Wall Street Journal polls:

  • Arizona: Harris 48%, Trump 46%
  • Georgia: Harris 48%, Trump 46%
  • Michigan: Harris 49%, Trump 47%
  • North Carolina: Harris 47%, Trump 47%
  • Nevada: Trump 49%, Harris 43%
  • Pennsylvania: Trump 47%, Harris 46%
  • Wisconsin: Harris 48%, Trump 48%

“The survey finds that the race in every state—and therefore the presidential election—is too close to call. If Harris wins the states where she leads in the poll, she would win a narrow majority in the Electoral College.”

Said Obama: “On the one hand, you have somebody who grew up like you, knows you, went to college with you, understands the struggles and pain and joy that comes from those experience.”

In Trump, he added: “You have someone who has consistently shown disregard, not just for the communities, but for you as a person. And you are thinking about sitting out?”

New York Times: A stern Obama tells Black men to drop “excuses” and support Harris.

October 10, 2024 at 3:02 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

FCC chair Jessica Rosenworcel denounced Donald Trump’s “threats against free speech” after he attacked CBS and called for the network to “lose its license” over a recent “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris, CNN reports.

The Race Has Barely Budged

October 10, 2024 at 1:56 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Nate Silver: “Polling data over the past week or so has been a mixed bag, but with more bright spots for Trump than for Harris if you squint. However, sentiment about the race has shifted in a GOP direction, sometimes to the point of outright panic by Democrats, in a way that isn’t really justified by the polling.”

“Versus a week ago, Trump has gained 0.3 points in our national average, 0.9 points in MI, 0.8 points in WI, 0.4 points in NV, 0.3 points in PA, 0.2 points in NC and 0.1 points in AZ. Harris has gained 0.3 points in GA.”

“So a slight move in a Trump direction, and the race is on the verge of becoming truly 50/50 rather than virtually 50/50. But this is pretty minor movement and could also just reflect noise.”
