Gardner Will Vote for Kavanaugh

Although the Denver Post reported last night that Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) might be on the fence regarding Brett Kavanaugh, the senator’s office released this statement:

“Sen. Gardner has been supportive of Judge Kavanaugh throughout the nomination. He had the opportunity to review the FBI report tonight. Nothing in the report changed his mind and he remains supportive of Judge Kavanaughs nomination.”

Gardner Waffles On Kavanaugh

Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) “hasn’t decided how he’ll vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee who has faced sexual assault allegations, Gardner’s office said late Thursday,” the Denver Post reports.

“The senator wants to finish reading the FBI report before making a decision… Gardner said he’d vote yes on Kavanaugh’s confirmation after meeting with the judge in July. However, that was before several women accused him of sexual misconduct.”

Gardner Finds Perils of Distancing from Trump

A new OnSight poll in Colorado finds Sen. Cory Gardner’s (R-CO) efforts to keep President Trump at arm’s length may be hurting his support among Republicans. His approval among GOP voters was 63% — a far cry from the 83% of Colorado Republicans who approved of Trump.

Gardner Says ‘Paid Protesters’ Are Calling His Office

Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) told CBS Denver that his office “is getting so many calls and emails, his has staff assigned to do nothing except respond to them. In one night, his office received 3,000 voicemails.”

Said Gardner: “It’s just been a fire hose.”

However, the senator said “many of them were from what Gardner calls paid protesters from other parts of the U.S.”

Gardner Supports a ‘Buffoon’ for President

Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO), who previously called Donald Trump a “buffoon,” said he’s voting for him, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

Said Gardner: “That’s why I’m voting Republican up and down the ticket. A Republican president will make a difference, even a Republican president named Donald Trump.”
