Inhofe’s Defense Stock Purchase Under Scrutiny

“Just days after signaling his support for unprecedented levels of U.S. defense spending, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK), the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, reported purchasing tens of thousands of dollars of stock in one of the nation’s top defense contractors,” the Daily Beast reports.

“After The Daily Beast asked about the purchase, Inhofe’s office said the senator had contacted his financial adviser to cancel the transaction and instructed him to avoid defense and aerospace purchases going forward.”

Inhofe Says McCain Is ‘Partially to Blame’ for Flag Controversy

Sen. James Inhofe (OK) told CNN that the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is “partially to blame” for the controversy over President Trump’s raising and then re-lowering White House flags to mark McCain’s death.

Said Inhofe: “Well, you know, frankly, I think that John McCain is partially to blame for that because he is very outspoken. He disagreed with the president in certain areas and wasn’t too courteous about it.”

Inhofe Says Pruitt May Need to Resign

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK), who has known EPA Administrator Pruitt for years and hails from the same state, told Laura Ingraham on her radio show that the endless scandals surrounding Pruitt may require him to step down.

Said Inhofe: “I see these things, they upset me as much as they upset you. And I think something needs to happen to change that. One of those alternatives would be for him to leave that job.”

Inhofe Blames Sanctuary Cities for Mass Shootings

Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) told Vox that gun laws don’t affect gun violence, instead it’s the existence of “sanctuary cities” that creates a lawless culture fostering mass shootings like the one in Las Vegas.

Said Inhofe: “That has a lot more to do with mass shootings than gun owners laws. You can go ahead and break a law and you can come to a sanctuary city, and they wouldn’t enforce the laws.”

Inhofe Backs Kasich as Trump’s Veep

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) told the Enid News that he is supporting John Kasich “not so that he could be president,” instead hoping he would be Donald Trump’s vice presidential pick.

Said Inhofe: “I support John Kasich not so that he could be president, but so that if Donald Trump becomes president, I would want Trump to use him as vice president because Kasich is one of the smartest guys I know.”
