Washington Post: “The letter from an attorney for Michael Caputo, who worked for Trump during part of the 2016 campaign, represents the first skirmish in what is likely to be broad resistance from Trump aides and associates to new inquiries issued this week by the Judiciary Committee.”

“Caputo told The Washington Post that he has already begun talking with four other Trump associates who received requests from the committee this week to begin a joint strategy of resisting requests for testimony.”

Former Trump campaign staffer Michael Caputo told CNN that the author of the anonymous New York Times op-ed is a woman who is also a “coward” and “diabolical.”

Said Caputo: “I’m fairly certain I know who it is. I’ve been, you know, going through this parlor game just like everybody else has. And I’m also completely 100 percent certain that the person who wrote this is on the list of people who said they didn’t write it.”

Caputo also claimed that the White House is “getting there” on finding out who the author is.

After being interviewed by special counsel investigators, former aide Trump aide Michael Caputo told CNN that Robert Mueller’s team is “focused on Russia collusion.”

Said Caputo: “It’s clear they are still really focused on Russia collusion. They know more about the Trump campaign than anyone who ever worked there.”

He added: “The Senate and the House are net fishing. The special counsel is spearfishing. They know what they are aiming at and are deadly accurate.”

“Michael Caputo, who served as a communications adviser to the Trump campaign, has been asked by the House committee investigating Russian election meddling to submit to a voluntary interview and to provide any documents he may have that are related to the inquiry,” the New York Times reports.

“The House Intelligence Committee, which is examining possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials, made its request in a letter on May 9. Mr. Caputo, who lives near Buffalo and spent six months on the Trump team, worked in Russia during the 1990s and came to know Kremlin officials. He also did work in the early 2000s for Gazprom Media, a Russian conglomerate that supported President Vladimir V. Putin.”
