Said the governor: “My view is just like, you know, she’d be great whatever she does, but I’ve been the most conservative governor in America. I’ve delivered the most conservative results, and they could say she would be as conservative or more conservative than me. So there you go.”

“Beto O’Rourke (D) announced Sunday that he has been diagnosed with a ‘bacterial infection’ and after receiving care at the hospital, he will be “resting at home,” postponing events in his campaign against Gov. Greg Abbott (R),” CNN reports.

“As Beto O’Rourke wraps up a seven-week trek across Texas early next month, his gubernatorial campaign is planning to kick off another tour of 120 ‘volunteer rallies’ in cities around the state, aimed at boosting the Democratic candidate’s organizing ranks during a critical stretch of the campaign,” the Houston Chronicle reports.

“Beto O’Rourke on Friday reported raising nearly $32 million during the first half of 2022, keeping his challenge against Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott on track to be one of the nation’s most expensive races in November’s midterm elections,” the AP reports.

“Abbott had already been sitting on $50 million as recently as February. His campaign had not yet released its latest fundraising numbers, which were due Friday in Texas.”
