“The MAGA movement erupted in disbelief Monday after top administration officials said convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein had not blackmailed elite figures, kept a ‘client list’ or been murdered in prison,” Axios reports.

“MAGA’s fundamental distrust of the ‘deep state‘ sparked years of conspiracy theories over Epstein’s suicide in prison while facing federal sex trafficking charges. Now, even declarations from movement stalwarts like Kash Patel and Dan Bongino, the top two officials at the FBI, are not enough to placate adherents.”

For members: A Conspiracy Theory That Won’t Die

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced she is introducing legislation to combat the streaks of condensation produced by airplanes because she thinks they are part of a secret plot to use dangerous chemicals to control our minds and the weather.

Said Greene: “We must end the dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification and geoengineering.”

“A federal jury in Colorado on Monday found that one of the nation’s most prominent election conspiracy theorists, MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, defamed a former employee for a leading voting equipment company after the 2020 presidential election,” Politico reports.

“The employee, Eric Coomer, was awarded $2.3 million in damages. He had sued after Lindell called him a traitor and accusations about him stealing the election were streamed on Lindell’s online media platform.”

“Protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles have triggered a flood of falsehoods and conspiracy theories online, and Russia has sought to exploit and amplify them,” NBC News reports.

“Russian media and pro-Russian voices have embraced right-wing conspiracy theories about the protests, including one that alleged the Mexican government was encouraging the demonstrations against President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.”

Eight states have introduced or passed legislation to ban planes from emitting “chemtrails” to poison Americans or control the weather, The Guardian reports.

Of course, there’s no credible evidence that this is even happening.

President Trump shared a post alleging that Joe Biden was “executed in 2020,” and replaced with “clones” and “robotic engineered soulless mindless entities.”

CNN rejected the conspiracy theory that the cable network somehow had advance knowledge of the attempt on Donald Trump’s life last summer.

Taylor Lorenz: “The rampant election fraud conspiracies on Threads show how Meta’s efforts to downrank and minimize journalistic content on the app have helped to create a vacuum in which misinformation thrives unchecked and users are unable to find reliable, accurately reported news.”

“The conspiracies also show how many self-described liberals have grown increasingly conspiratorial and unable to distinguish fact from fiction in a chaotic and broken information ecosystem.”

“Pro-Trump groups have spent years building election denial networks that, combined with Big Tech’s hands-off approach and continued foreign interference, have created a toxic information ecosystem,” Wired reports.

New York Times: “Meteorologists’ role of delivering lifesaving weather forecasts and explaining climate science sometimes makes them targets for harassment, and this kind of abuse has been happening for years, weather experts said.”

“But amid the conspiracy theories and falsehoods that have spiraled online after Hurricanes Helene and Milton, they say the attacks and threats directed at them have reached new heights.”
