Keir Starmer’s Chief of Staff Resigns

February 8, 2026 · 10:34 am ET · Leave a Comment

“Morgan McSweeney, the chief of staff to Prime Minister Keir Starmer of Britain, resigned under pressure on Sunday after days of political upheaval over his role in the appointment of Peter Mandelson, a friend of Jeffrey Epstein, as ambassador to the United States,” the New York Times reports.

Mr. McSweeney, a longtime protégé of Mr. Mandelson’s, said in a statement that “the decision to appoint Peter Mandelson was wrong. He has damaged our party, our country and trust in politics itself.”

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Bombshell Filing

February 7, 2026 · 11:48 am ET · Leave a Comment

Dina Doll: “Buried in a footnote of Ghislaine Maxwell’s court filing, she makes the bombshell claim that there twenty-five accomplices of Jeffrey Epstein entered into secret settlements and that there are four unnamed employee co-conspirators of Epstein.”

“The fact is, Maxwell is no longer content with the conditions of her confinement. She has tasted a glimpse of freedom and appears determined to push for more. After losing her appeal to the Supreme Court, she filed a habeas corpus petition. This is the legal equivalent of a last resort. It asks a court to overturn a conviction on the grounds that it is so fundamentally unfair or unconstitutional that it cannot stand, even after all other appellate avenues have been exhausted.”

“In her petition, Maxwell alleges that twenty-five accomplices of Epstein entered into secret agreements with Epstein survivors through their lawyers. She also asserts that four employees of Epstein were co-conspirators but were never charged. Maxwell does not stop there. She specifically names two men closely associated with both Epstein and Donald Trump: Leon Black and Leslie Wexner.”

“When you piece it altogether Maxwell’s court filling starts looking less like a plea to a Judge but a pardon plea to Trump.”

“Lutnick and Epstein each signed on behalf of limited liability companies that agreed on Dec. 28, 2012, to acquire stakes in a now-shuttered advertising technology company called Adfin, documents released among the so-called Epstein files show.”

U.K. Police Investigating Former Ambassador to the U.S.

February 6, 2026 · 12:19 pm ET · Leave a Comment

“U.K. police investigating the disgraced former ambassador to the U.S., Peter Mandelson, said they’re searching two addresses as part of their probe into misconduct in public office,” Bloomberg reports.

“The criminal probe into Mandelson began earlier this week after Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s government referred communications between the former envoy and the late pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein to the authorities. The exchanges appeared to show Mandelson leaking market-sensitive information to Epstein while he was a minister in then-prime minister Gordon Brown’s government.”

New Epstein Jail Video Contradicts Official Accounts

February 5, 2026 · 8:46 pm ET · Leave a Comment

“Newly released Department of Justice documents show that investigators reviewing surveillance footage from the night of Jeffrey Epstein’s death observed an orange-colored shape moving up a staircase toward the isolated, locked tier where his cell was located at approximately 10:39 p.m. on Aug. 9, 2019,” CBS News reports.

“That entry in an observation log of the video from the Metropolitan Correctional Center appears to suggest something previously unreported by authorities: ‘A flash of orange looks to be going up the L Tier stairs — could possibly be an inmate escorted up to that Tier.’”

A Shocking Sex Scandal Rocks the Trad Right

The Bulwark: “The online right has been shaken this week by a recording that suggests far-right podcaster Elijah Schaffer—one of the biggest proponents of traditional or ‘trad’ family values—may have had an affair.”

“Even more scandalous: that the affair was with his employee Sarah Stock, an e-girl and influencer so ostensibly traditional that her marriage was blessed by the pope himself.”

Starmer Says Sorry to Epstein Victims

February 5, 2026 · 7:07 am ET · Leave a Comment

“Keir Starmer apologized for appointing Peter Mandelson to a senior role despite the former envoy’s known links to the pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, as he sought to turn the page on the crisis engulfing his government,” Bloomberg reports.

Said Starmer: “I am sorry. Sorry for what was done to you. Sorry that so many people with power failed you. Sorry for having believed Mandelson’s lies and appointed him. And sorry that even now you’re forced to watch this story unfold in public once again.”

Stephen Collinson: The Epstein storm could topple a world leader — but it’s not Trump.

Sex, Lies and the Epstein Files

Tina Brown: “Other than making the rictus smiles of their wives and exes tauter than usual, pawing through these emails serves only to reinforce what we already know: that mega-wealth so often erodes a moral compass. Epstein’s appeal was an insidious gift of permission. Girls, tax evasion, private places to play. An underground railway of upper-echelon decadence.”

“Alas, the fact that we are all writing about this yet again shows how successful the latest Epstein email release has been for Donald Trump. He’s found another way to turn danger to himself into danger to others.”

President Trump has made a fresh plea for Americans to move on from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, The Guardian reports.

Said Trump: “Nothing came out about me other than it was a conspiracy against me, literally, by Epstein and other people. But I think it’s time now for the country to maybe get on to something else like health care or something that people care about.”

The Epstein Rot Goes Deep

February 3, 2026 · 8:54 am ET · Leave a Comment

Edward Luce: “The Epstein files offer America the opposite of closure. They are the latest widening of a scandal that has become a leitmotif of our time — not only because half the material remains unreleased. A budding Vladimir Lenin, or Benito Mussolini, might see the files as kindling awaiting a revolutionary spark.”

“On the basis that politics is downstream of culture, today’s public moral outrage will further corrode faith in U.S. democracy. How can you throw the bums out when they span the system?”

“By that measure, Donald Trump is a short-term beneficiary of the latest 3 million or so page release.”

The Guardian: New Epstein files fail to quell outrage as advocates claim documents are being withheld.

CNN: Breaking down some boldface names in the Epstein files.

Why the Epstein Scandal May Never Die

“The internet is awash in speculation, suspicion and disgust over the millions of new pages of Jeffrey Epstein files released by the Justice Department on Friday,” Axios reports.

“Few believe the story is anywhere near finished.”

“The DOJ’s final release has delivered tantalizing revelations about Epstein’s ties to elite society. But it has brought neither clarity nor closure to the fundamental questions that have kept the scandal alive.”

“The Justice Department exposed the names of dozens of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, including many who haven’t shared their identities publicly or were minors when they were abused by the notorious sex offender,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“A review of 47 victims’ full names on Sunday found that 43 of them were left unredacted in files that were made public by the government on Friday, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis. Several women’s full names appeared more than 100 times in the files.”

“The Justice Department was required to redact all victims’ names prior to releasing the files.”

How Trump Appears in the Epstein Files

February 1, 2026 · 10:32 pm ET · Leave a Comment

New York Times: “The files are peppered with references to Mr. Trump, who had been a close friend of Mr. Epstein’s until the early 2000s. While Mr. Trump has repeatedly downplayed the relationship, the two men bonded over their pursuit of young women. Mr. Trump has denied any wrongdoing in connection to Mr. Epstein.”

“Using a proprietary search tool, The New York Times identified more than 5,300 files containing more than 38,000 references to Mr. Trump, his wife, his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, and other related words and phrases in the latest batch of emails, government files, videos and other records released by the Justice Department. Previous installments of the Epstein files, which the department released late last year, included another 130 files with Trump-related references.”
