Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) “is poised to join the crowded race for the Republican presidential nomination with an announcement at a rally outside New Orleans on Wednesday,” Bloomberg reports.

“Jindal would be the 13th Republican to enter the race.”

Politico: “As Jindal prepares to make his White House bid official on Wednesday, he is struggling to break the one percent mark in national polls. That puts him a dozen places behind the top-tier triumvirate of Walker, Bush and Rubio. It’s possible Jindal will emerge from the back of the pack at some stage of the game, but it’s just as likely the dumbed-down version of Jindal will never catch fire.”

IBM has cancelled a ribbon-cutting for its new National Service Center in Baton Rouge because of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s executive order on “religious freedom” after the legislature rejected a law he backed, WAFB reports.

“In a letter to the governor, IBM executives said the legislation cut at the very heart of what their company stands for, equal rights and opportunity for everyone, discrimination for no one. The letter implored Jindal not to support any agenda that protected discrimination against LGBT people.”

“Just weeks before he is expected to announce his presidential campaign, Bobby Jindal is at the nadir of his political career,” the Washington Post reports.

“The Republican governor is at open war with many of his erstwhile allies in the business community and the legislature. He spent weeks pushing a ‘religious freedom’ bill that failed to pass, while having little contact with legislators trying to solve Louisiana’s worst budget crisis in 25 years.”

“Jindal is now so unpopular in deep-red Louisiana that his approval rating plunged to 32% in a recent poll — compared with 42% for President Obama, who lost the state by 17 percentage points in 2012.”

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), “who has been actively exploring a campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, will announce his decision later this month,” CNN has learned.

“The Louisiana governor will make his intentions known at a June 24th event in New Orleans.”

Louisiana legislators clipped Gov. Bobby Jindal’s wings “by inserting wording into the state budget that would require the governor’s office to pay the out-of-state travel expenses of his security detail,” the Baton Rouge Advocate reports.

“Jindal spent almost 45 percent of 2014 outside Louisiana attending political events. He has kept up the pace so far in 2015 and since forming a presidential exploratory committee early this week, is likely to continue his aggressive travel schedule.”

“State officials in Louisiana are scrambling to find the money to stage a primary election next year after Governor Bobby Jindal, a potential presidential candidate, did not provide funding in his annual budget,” Reuters reports.

The Washington Post says Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) “is one of the great mysteries of the early 2016 campaign: the rising star who has stalled.”

“Not long ago, the Louisiana governor was the Republican candidate of the future — the son of immigrants and also a proud product of the Deep South. He is a devout Catholic, an experienced governor and — in a political sphere dominated by shallow cable-television shouters — a data-driven Rhodes Scholar.”

“But now, Jindal sits at about 2 percent in national Republican polls. He has become such an afterthought that he recently resorted to asking himself a “gotcha” question. The media hadn’t bothered, and he wanted to stay in the conversation.”
