Eric Trump Claims His Father Has 95% Support

July 17, 2019 at 9:11 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Eric Trump called his father “the greatest fighter in the world,” and claimed that “95 percent” of people in the country support his political message, Politico reports.

Said the younger Trump: “He is willing to fight, and I’ve said this time and time again, but America didn’t have a fighter for administrations — by the way, both on the Republican and Democratic side. We haven’t had somebody in there fighting,”

Someone Spit on Eric Trump

June 26, 2019 at 7:26 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Eric Trump told Breitbart that he was spit on at a Chicago restaurant by an employee.

Said Trump: “It was purely a disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems. For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates they have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we’re winning.”

The Daily Beast reports the worker was taken into Secret Service custody but later released.

Eric Trump told Fox News that he doesn’t believe the government shutdown is all that bad.

Said Trump: “Honestly, I think it’s a good thing for us, because people see through it.”

He added: “I mean, people have seen a year that’s incredible. It’s been filled with nothing but the best for our country, ‘America First’ policies, and they’re happy with where we are as a nation … It has the Democrats worried.”

How Trump Businesses Took Cancer Charity Money

June 6, 2017 at 2:59 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Forbes: “In reviewing filings from the Eric Trump Foundation and other charities, it’s clear that the course wasn’t free–that the Trump Organization received payments for its use, part of more than $1.2 million that has no documented recipients past the Trump Organization. Golf charity experts say the listed expenses defy any reasonable cost justification for a one-day golf tournament.”

“Additionally, the Donald J. Trump Foundation, which has come under previous scrutiny for self-dealing and advancing the interests of its namesake rather than those of charity, apparently used the Eric Trump Foundation to funnel $100,000 in donations into revenue for the Trump Organization.”

“And while donors to the Eric Trump Foundation were told their money was going to help sick kids, more than $500,000 was re-donated to other charities, many of which were connected to Trump family members or interests, including at least four groups that subsequently paid to hold golf tournaments at Trump courses.”

Eric Trump Claimed Funding Came from Russia

May 7, 2017 at 7:58 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Author James Dodson described to WBUR a conversation he had with Eric Trump in 2014 while playing golf:

“So when I got in the cart with Eric,” Dodson says, “as we were setting off, I said, ‘Eric, who’s funding? I know no banks — because of the recession, the Great Recession — have touched a golf course. You know, no one’s funding any kind of golf construction. It’s dead in the water the last four or five years.’ And this is what he said. He said, ‘Well, we don’t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.’ I said, ‘Really?’ And he said, ‘Oh, yeah. We’ve got some guys that really, really love golf, and they’re really invested in our programs. We just go there all the time.’ Now that was three years ago, so it was pretty interesting.”

Eric Trump Defends President’s Golf Outings

April 17, 2017 at 10:29 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Eric Trump defended his father’s frequent rounds of golf in an interview with the Irish Independent saying the sport was a tool for the president to conduct diplomacy.

Said Trump: “You can sit with somebody in a golf cart where there might be cultural differences and language barriers and have a good time and build a friendship in a way that you could never do sitting across an office table from someone.”

“Nepotism is kind of a factor of life… We might be here because of nepotism, but we’re not still here because of nepotism. You know, if we didn’t do a good job, if we weren’t competent, believe me, we wouldn’t be in this spot.”

— Eric Trump, in an interview with Forbes.

Trump Will Get Regular Reports About His Businesses

March 24, 2017 at 12:07 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Eric Trump told Forbes he will keep his father “abreast of the family business’ profits.”

Said Trump: “I am deadly serious about that exercise. I do not talk about the government with him, and he does not talk about the business with us. That’s kind of a steadfast pact we made, and it’s something that we honor.”

However, just two minutes later he admitted he would give his father reports “on the bottom line, profitability reports and stuff like that, but you know, that’s about it,”  adding that the updates will be “probably quarterly.”

Eric Trump’s Trip Cost Taxpayers $100K

February 3, 2017 at 5:32 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“When the president-elect’s son, Eric Trump, jetted to Uruguay in early January for a Trump Organization promotional trip, U.S. taxpayers were left footing a bill of nearly $100,000 in hotel rooms for Secret Service and embassy staff,” the Washington Post reports.

“The Uruguayan trip shows how the government is unavoidably entangled with the Trump company as a result of the president’s refusal to divest his ownership stake. In this case, government agencies are forced to pay to support business operations that ultimately help to enrich the president himself.”

Eric Trump Says David Duke Deserves ‘a Bullet’

November 3, 2016 at 9:02 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Eric Trump told KHOW Denver that former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke deserves “a bullet.”

Said Trump: “Ross, it’s disgusting and by the way, if I said exactly what you said, I’d get killed for it but I think I’ll say it anyway. The guy does deserve a bullet. I mean, these aren’t good people. These are horrible people.”

He added: “In fact, I commend my father. My father’s the first Republican who’s gone out and said, ‘Listen, what’s happened to the African-American community is horrible and I’m going to take care of it.'”

Trump Son Says It’s ‘Foolish’ to Release Tax Returns

August 24, 2016 at 11:22 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Eric Trump said that it would be “foolish” for his father to release his tax returns and subject them to scrutiny by people who don’t know what they are looking at, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Said Trump: “You would have a bunch of people who know nothing about taxes trying to look through and trying to come up with assumptions on things they know nothing about. It would be foolish to do. I’m actually the biggest proponent of not doing it.”
