Buffett Slams Trump Over Tax Returns

August 2, 2016 · 7:18 am ET · Leave a Comment

“Warren Buffett took on Donald Trump over his refusal to release his tax returns — issuing the real estate mogul a challenge to put his cards on the table,” ABC News reports.

Said Buffett: “Now I’ve got news for him, I’m under audit too. There are no rules against showing your tax returns and just let people ask us questions about the items that are on there.”

He added: “You’re only afraid if you’ve got something to be afraid about. He’s not afraid of the IRS. He’s afraid because of you.”

The New York Times reports Buffett also said that a monkey throwing darts at the stock pages in 1995, when Mr. Trump first offered stock in his Atlantic City hotels, would have come out far ahead of Trump.

Buffett Says Warren Should Be ‘Less Angry’

Billionaire Warren Buffett isn’t a fan of Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) populist rhetoric, Business Insider reports.

Said Buffett: “I think that she would do better if she was less angry and demonizing. I believe in ‘hate the sin but love the sinner.’ And I’m not sure that I’ve fully convinced Elizabeth Warren that that’s the way to go.”

Buffett Bets Big on Hillary

December 4, 2014 · 4:10 pm ET · 24 Comments

Warren Buffett “gave the maximum donation allowed to Ready for Hillary last quarter, his first-ever check to the sort of independent political groups that he’s scorned in the past,” Bloomberg reports.

“Buffett, who is the third richest man in the world, gave $25,000, the most any individual can donate under the committee’s self-imposed cap, according to a person familiar with Ready for Hillary’s post-election financial disclosure report. The group has raised more than $11 million to finance its efforts to lay the groundwork for a Clinton presidential campaign. Their latest report is due to be filed with the Federal Election Commission by midnight Thursday.”
