September 29, 2026 at 6:30 am ET By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

”He regularly directs the presidential helicopter to fly over his projects, surveying his changes from above.”

”No modern president has done more to personally reshape the nation’s capital. It’s an effort that Trump’s deputies and allies credit as a major achievement. Many others just want him to stop.”

Another Trump Headache for Beleaguered GOP Senators

September 28, 2026 at 9:47 pm ET By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Senate Republicans want to spend this week insulating themselves from a deteriorating political environment before getting back on the campaign trail. Instead, they’re fending off some final curveballs from President Donald Trump,” Politico reports.

“White House decisions to use air campaign-style ads with taxpayer funds while separately rescinding about a billion dollars in congressionally approved spending are the latest pre-midterm frustrations for GOP senators — who spent much of Monday fielding off-message questions about the president’s latest actions.”

ABC News: White House airs more taxpayer-funded ads promoting Trump.

September 28, 2026 at 9:25 pm ET By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s efforts to revamp America’s food system have hit their biggest hurdle yet: The White House,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“Two years ago, the Trump campaign joined forces with Kennedy, embracing his ambition to wage war on chronic disease. But concerns about whether his ideas on food are even feasible have prompted clashes within the administration, casting uncertainty over a once potent political agenda that drew support from millions of voters.”

Republicans Face a Turnout Problem

September 28, 2026 at 7:34 pm ET By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

There’s no question Democrats are more enthusiastic about this election than Republicans.

Poll after poll has found an enthusiasm gap, sometimes a substantial one. In the latest Marquette Law School survey, for instance, 47% of Democrats said they were very enthusiastic about voting, compared with just 32% of Republicans.
