Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair told Bloomberg he thinks there is a 30% chance that Britain’s decision to quit the European Union will be reversed.
Said Blair: “I still have some difficulty seeing how, after the general election which produced a hung parliament in the U.K., this government is going to get its form of Brexit through.”
“One of Tony Blair’s closest allies and political friends Lord Falconer has admitted he thought the Iraq war was a mistake,” the Scotsman reports.
Said Falconer: “We didn’t find weapons of mass destruction there and that was the basis by which we went in. So on that basis, we weren’t right to go in.”
“Mr Blair’s former flatmate, when the two were starting out as barristers in the 1970s, admitted that the ex-Prime Minister also believes that.”
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair defended his government advisory work to Vanity Fair saying maintaining that “it’s not as lucrative as people think, and describing it not as work for hire but as work that can change the character of countries.”
Said Blair: “I’m a private individual, I’m not a government department! One of the things people are going to have to get used to is: you are going to get leaders leaving office in their early 50s. I have a lot of energy. I feel extremely fit. There’s no way I’m going to retire and play golf. You look at someone like Henry [Kissinger]. He’s 91 and he’s still going strong. I love that. Or Shimon Peres! These are my role models.”
