Liberal ‘Dark Money’ Group Spent $400M In 2020
“A left-leaning, secret-money group doled out a whopping $410 million in 2020, aiding Democratic efforts to unseat then-President Donald Trump and win back control of the Senate,” Politico reports.
“The group, the Sixteen Thirty Fund, financed attack ads against Trump and vulnerable Republican senators and funded massive get-out-the-vote and issue advocacy campaigns amid the coronavirus pandemic, as detailed in a new tax filing… It exploded in size during the Trump administration, going from a few tens of millions of dollars per year to raising and spending hundreds of millions.”
Flynn Asked Pentagon Official to Help Overturn Election
Former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn tried to enlist Pentagon official Ezra Cohen to help overturn the election, telling him “there was going to be an epic showdown over the election results,” ABC News reports.
Cohen told Flynn: “Sir, the election is over. It’s time to move on.”
Flynn fired back: “You’re a quitter! This is not over! Don’t be a quitter!”
McConnell Sought to Disinvite Trump from Inauguration

Trump Staffer Became Severely Ill at Tulsa Rally
An excerpt from Jonathan Karl’s new book, Betrayal: The Final Act of the Trump Show, in Vanity Fair reveals that a Trump campaign staffer became critically ill after the disastrous Tulsa rally Donald Trump forced his campaign to stage as the coronavirus pandemic raged.
“This employee of the Trump campaign, whose name I’ve been asked not to disclose, was unable to drive home like the others. Instead, this staffer was hospitalized in Tulsa for a week. This staffer had been worried about the dangers of working on the rally because of preexisting conditions that made the prospect of being infected especially dangerous, but the president had demanded an indoor rally despite the warnings of public health officials, and the staffer faithfully responded by helping to organize it. Now that the rally was over, the president was back in Washington complaining bitterly that more people had not shown up, while this campaign worker was stuck in Tulsa, lying in a hospital bed thinking his life was about to end.”
It’s the same rally where Hermain Cain likely contracted Covid-19 and later died.
A Roadmap to Insurrection
On October 20, 2020 — just a few weeks before last year’s election — the Claremont Institute and the Texas Public Policy Foundation issued a detailed roadmap for overturning the presidential election, the Bulwark reports.

Ah, memories.
How Trump Laid the Groundwork for the Big Lie
John Avlon shows how Donald Trump was preparing for the Big Lie for more than a year before the 2020 election.
Trump Allies Admit They Never Checked Fraud Claims
“Allies of former President Donald Trump testified under oath that they had done little to verify debunked claims of fraud in the 2020 election before spreading them on the national stage,” according to tapes of their depositions obtained by CNN.
“The new footage of sworn testimony from Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell animates the behind-the-scenes movements of the two in their effort to sow doubt about the integrity of the presidential election results.”
Capitol Rioter Had Contacts with Trump Advisers
“Congressional investigators probing the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol are examining the contacts between one of the rioters who breached the Capitol and state-level GOP officials who worked with former President Donald Trump as he attempted to overturn the 2020 election,” Politico reports.
“The rioter, who interviewed with the committee twice in the past week, described knowledge of contacts between GOP officials in a key state Trump lost and allies of the former president in the weeks leading up to the Jan. 6 attack.”
Quote of the Day
“If you’re a Democrat, and President Biden won your seat by 16 points, you’re in a competitive race next year. You are no longer safe.”
— House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), quoted by The Hill, predicting Republicans could flip 70 House seats in next year’s midterms.
Trump Attorney Blamed Capitol Riots on Pence
“As Vice President Mike Pence hid from a marauding mob during the Jan. 6 invasion of the Capitol, an attorney for President Donald Trump emailed a top Pence aide to say that Pence had caused the violence by refusing to block certification of Trump’s election loss,” the Washington Post reports.
“The attorney, John C. Eastman, also continued to press for Pence to act even after Trump’s supporters had trampled through the Capitol — an attack the Pence aide, Greg Jacob, had described as a “siege” in their email exchange.”
Said Eastman: “The ‘siege’ is because YOU and your boss did not do what was necessary to allow this to be aired in a public way so that the American people can see for themselves what happened.”
John Eastman Returns to Defending His Memo
John Eastman, the lawyer who wrote the infamous memo on how Donald Trump could overturn the 2020 election, was caught on video saying that Vice President Mike Pence didn’t take his solid legal advice because Pence is “an establishment guy.”
Just last week, Eastman walked back the memo in an interview saying it would have been “crazy” to pursue.

Trump Supporters Push for Election ‘Audit’ In Florida
Tampa Bay Times: “Across Florida, former President Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters are scouring communities for evidence of voter fraud. They are bombarding local elections offices with calls and emails. They are showing up wherever lawmakers are meeting, demanding an audit of last November’s presidential contest that installed Democrat Joe Biden in the White House.”
“The push for a recount began months ago in states like Arizona, where Trump lost by a narrow margin. (A much-maligned review of ballots in that state’s largest county, led by a Trump supporter, confirmed Biden’s victory.) But the movement is now bleeding into states Trump won comfortably, including Florida.”
Military Bases Swung Hard Away from Republicans
