“I find it odd that Sen. Ted Cruz did not renounce his dual Canadian citizenship until 2014 when it became clear he was running for president.”
— Carly Fiorina, in an interview on Fox News.
“I find it odd that Sen. Ted Cruz did not renounce his dual Canadian citizenship until 2014 when it became clear he was running for president.”
— Carly Fiorina, in an interview on Fox News.
“Donald Trump reminds me of the Kim Kardashian of politics.”
“There are people out there — lots of people, men and women — who think it’s time for a woman president. My message to them will be, ‘How about an honest woman?'”
— Carly Fiorina, quoted by The Hill.

Washington Post: “Fiorina gained a key opportunity this fall when she rose in the polls after two strong debate performances that showcased her direct delivery style and command of the issues. But with businessman Donald Trump monopolizing media attention, and without the deep campaign organization of the other leading candidates, Fiorina is seeing her opportunity slip away.”
“Her road back to relevance could prove challenging, with voting in Iowa and New Hampshire just weeks away. The effort begins Tuesday in Nevada, where CNN will host the final Republican debate of the year.”
“This is the pattern, isn’t it? The pattern is — he says something insulting, offensive and outrageous; the media pays attention; then he claims we all misunderstood him.”
— Carly Fiorina, quoted by the Washington Post, on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
Carly Fiorina attacked Donald Trump on Facebook:
“Donald, sorry, I’ve got to interrupt again. You would know something about pathological. How was that meeting with Putin? Or Wharton? Or your self funded campaign? Anyone can turn a multi-million dollar inheritance into more money, but all the money in the world won’t make you as smart as Ben Carson.”
During Tuesday night’s GOP debate, Carly Fiorina went after Donald Trump on foreign policy and earned applause when she noted that unlike him, she had met Russian President Vladimir Putin “not in a green room for a show, but in a private meeting.”
However, MSNBC reports that during a September interview Fiorina used the term “green room” to describe her own encounter with the Russian leader: “I met him in Beijing. We were in sort of a green room setting—each of us were giving a speech at a major economic conference.”
Carly Fiorina “may be running for president, but she is also available for speaking engagements. On a limited basis, that is, according to an email sent by the speaking firm that represents the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive,” Politico reports.
Wall Street Journal: “It is unusual for competitive political candidates to give paid speeches while on the campaign trail, though some do mix commercial business with stumping for office.”
CNN: “Fiorina rocketed from a little-known, first-time presidential candidate to one of the Republican Party’s top-tier contenders thanks to well-reviewed debate performances in August and September. But she has virtually vanished since. Wednesday’s debate will give Fiorina another chance to make a good impression and generate some positive headlines.”
“I think I am distinctly horrifying to liberals.”
— Carly Fiorina, quoted by Politico, after a poll was released showing her besting Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical general election matchup in Iowa.
“For over three decades, Carly Fiorina’s bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in medieval history and philosophy has had little real-world application. But as she mounts a presidential bid, the Republican candidate says her degree is finally of use as she considers how she would deal with ISIS as commander-in-chief,” ABC News reports.
Said Fiorina: “Finally my degree in medieval history and philosophy has come in handy, because what ISIS wants to do is drive us back to the Middle Ages, literally.”
Carly Fiorina’s failed 2010 U.S. Senate bid left behind “more than 30 invoices, totaling about $500,000, that the multimillionaire didn’t settle — even as Fiorina reimbursed herself nearly $1.3 million she lent the campaign. She finally cleared most of the balance in January, a few months before announcing her run for president,” the Washington Post reports.
Said Fiorina’s former campaign manager Martin Wilson: “Occasionally, I’d call and tell her she should pay them. She just wouldn’t.”
Daily Beast: “The Fiorina Foundation was not registered with the secretary of state in California or the county clerk in Santa Cruz, where Fiorina resided at the time. It wasn’t registered with the IRS, either. Meaning that, were it really a foundation, it would be violating the law, which demands that private foundations file annual 990 forms.”
“In response to a report, by the San Francisco Chronicle, revealing Fiorina’s apparent lack of compliance, she said she was in fact under no obligation to register the Fiorina Foundation, because what she called her foundation was not a private foundation at all.”
“Carly Fiorina has emerged as the Republican candidate of the moment in conservative fundraising circles, drawing the notice of the billionaire Koch brothers and other wealthy donors who could instantly remake her shoestring presidential campaign,” Reuters reports.
“Fiorina’s show-stealing performance in a Republican presidential debate last month, and her subsequent surge in the polls, has prompted industrialists Charles and David Koch to take a ‘serious look’ at the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive, according to three sources close to the brothers. She has now moved to the short list of candidates the Kochs may support with their reported $1 billion war chest, the sources said. Florida Senator Marco Rubio is among those on the coveted list, the sources said.”
Carly Fiorina said that “she had plenty of job offers after being fired as the CEO of Hewlett Packard, including posts in the George W. Bush administration, but she decided against them,” Politico reports.
Said Fiorina: “I didn’t want to go back to work as a CEO… I wanted a break, and then I wanted to give back.”
Donald Trump told ABC News that Carly Fiorina was responsible for “one of the worst deals made in business history” while CEO of Hewlett Packard and that “she destroyed the company that she was at before then.”
Said Trump: “I mean she’s been terrible. And, you know, she’s got a good pitter patter, but if you listen to her for more than five minutes straight, you get a headache.”
Carly Fiorina turns a Donald Trump insult into a pretty effective new ad.
“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?! I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”
— Donald Trump, quoted by Rolling Stone, commenting on GOP rival Carly Fiorina.
