Trump Lawyer’s Payment to Porn Star Flagged by Bank

March 5, 2018 at 1:42 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

The bank used by President Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to wire $130,000 to a former adult-film actress flagged the transaction as suspicious and reported it to the Treasury Department, the Wall Street Journal reports.

“The lawyer, Michael Cohen, wired the money to a lawyer for former actress Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels, from an account at First Republic Bank . The money was received on Oct. 27, 2016, 12 days before the presidential election, another person familiar with the matter said. It isn’t clear when First Republic reported it to the government as suspicious.”

Also interesting: “After Mr. Trump’s victory, Mr. Cohen complained to friends that he had yet to be reimbursed for the payment to Ms. Clifford, the people said.”

Stormy Daniels Almost Called Deal Off

March 2, 2018 at 8:58 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“The 2016 election was less than a month away, and Donald Trump’s attorney had blown the deadline for paying Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about her alleged affair with the future president,” the Washington Post reports.

“In an Oct. 17 email, an attorney for Daniels — a porn star whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — threatened to cancel the nondisclosure agreement by the end of the day.”

“That very morning, Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, had created a limited liability company, public records show, that ultimately would serve as a vehicle for Daniels’s payoff. But the money had not arrived. A second email to Cohen, a short time after the first, said Daniels was calling the deal off.”

Stormy Daniels Kept a ‘Monica Lewinsky Dress’

February 15, 2018 at 1:37 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Stormy Daniels may have more than just her words from a 2011 interview to back up past claims of an affair with Donald Trump – she has kept a gold dress from the night of the alleged encounter,” The Blast reports.

“We’re told Daniels is planning on having the dress forensically tested to search for any DNA that proves she isn’t lying about her tryst with Trump, including samples of skin, hair or … anything.”

Stormy Daniels Claims She’s Now Free to Talk

February 14, 2018 at 1:29 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Sources close to Stormy Daniels tell The Blast that her legal team notified President Trump’s legal team, including attorney Michael Cohen, that they are in violation of the agreement they made back in 2016.

Daniels is apparently “ready to spill all the tea regarding her alleged affair with Donald Trump” because Cohen allegedly breached the contract he negotiated with the porn star.

A manager for the adult film actress confirmed to the Associated Press that Daniels believes Trump’s lawyer invalidated a non-disclosure agreement by publicly discussing the payment.

Trump’s Lawyer Says He Paid Stormy Daniels Himself

February 13, 2018 at 9:51 pm EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Michael Cohen, President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, told the New York Times that he paid $130,000 out of his own pocket to a pornographic-film actress who had once claimed to have had an affair with Mr. Trump.

Cohen said he was not reimbursed for the payment.

Said Cohen: “Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly. The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.”

New York Magazine: “There are new details about the president’s alleged relationship with adult-film star Stormy Daniels. According to a report by Mother Jones, Daniels once claimed that the president made her spank him with an issue of Forbes magazine.”

“The information came from an email exchange between two campaign consultants who worked with Daniels back in 2009, when she was considering running for Senator of Louisiana (one of her potential campaign slogans was “Stormy Daniels: Screwing people honestly.”)”

Why Are We Only Learning of Stormy Daniels Now?

January 18, 2018 at 7:46 am EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Washington Post: “Several journalists surely knew who Stormy Daniels was in 2016, and it probably wasn’t because they’d seen her in one of the many porn films she’d made. The adult-film actress was on the radar of a number of mainstream news outlets in the waning days of the presidential campaign. Reporters from ABC, Fox News, the Daily Beast and Slate.com were pursuing a potentially explosive story: that Daniels had allegedly had an affair with Donald Trump in 2006, only months after Trump’s wife, Melania, had given birth to their son, Barron.”

“Why wasn’t the story reported at the time, when it might have intensified questions surrounding Trump’s character just before voters went to the polls? Journalists say they held back because they couldn’t independently corroborate key elements of Daniels’s account, including in one instance from Daniels herself. The story, in other words, failed to rise to journalistic standards, never mind that it involved a man who regularly attacks the news media for lacking standards.”
