“Winsome Sears, the GOP candidate in Virginia’s lieutenant governor race, laid off her entire campaign staff 55 days out from Election Day in the commonwealth,” The Hill reports.
“The layoffs come just over a week before polls open for early voting in the state.”
Larry Elder (R) told reporters that he believes “there might very well be shenanigans” in the election to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom, continuing the baseless GOP effort to undermine elections by suggesting wrongdoing, CNN reports.
A new Suffolk University poll in California finds 41% are in favoring of recalling Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), while 58% would like him to remain as governor.

After California’s recall race was a dead-heat just a month ago, the FiveThirtyEight polling average shows Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) opening up a double-digit lead against the effort, 53% to 42.6%.
