February 26, 2018 at 9:43 am EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he’s affirmatively stated that there’s no truth to it… I believe my father. I know my father.”

Quote of the Day

“It’s Trump and uneducated rednecks. Trump is just telling them what they want to hear. I used to hang out with him. He’s a crazy motherfucker. Limited mentally — a megalomaniac, narcissistic. I can’t stand him. I used to date Ivanka, you know.”

— Quincy Jones, in an interview with Vulture, on what has stirred up racism in the United States.

Mueller Expands Focus to Ivanka Trump

January 6, 2018 at 11:40 am EST By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Special counsel Robert Mueller “has recalled for questioning at least one participant in a controversial meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer at Trump Tower in June 2016, and is looking into President Trump’s misleading claim that the discussion focused on adoption, rather than an offer to provide damaging information about Hillary Clinton,” the Los Angeles Times reports.

“Investigators also are exploring the involvement of the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, who did not attend the half-hour sit-down on June 9, 2016, but briefly spoke with two of the participants, a Russian lawyer and a Russian-born Washington lobbyist. Details of the encounter were not previously known.”

Trump Children Were Nearly Indicted for Felony Fraud

October 4, 2017 at 8:13 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

ProPublica: “In the spring of 2012, Donald Trump’s two eldest children, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr., found themselves in a precarious legal position. For two years, prosecutors in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office had been building a criminal case against them for misleading prospective buyers of units in the Trump SoHo, a hotel and condo development that was failing to sell. Despite the best efforts of the siblings’ defense team, the case had not gone away.”

“An indictment seemed like a real possibility. The evidence included emails from the Trumps making clear that they were aware they were using inflated figures about how well the condos were selling to lure buyers.”

October 3, 2017 at 11:21 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“White House officials have begun examining emails associated with a third and previously unreported email account on Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump’s private domain,” Politico reports.

Jared and Ivanka Shrink Roles to Shield Themselves

October 2, 2017 at 7:04 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

Mike Allen: “With increasing legal and practical questions about their presence in the West Wing, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are trying to remain viable by shrinking their purview and making more of an effort to ‘stay in their lane,’ associates tell us.”

“Both see themselves as under constant attack, as a way to get at the president.”

“In the chaotic early days of the administration, ‘Javanka’ — as Steve Bannon derisively called them — were involved in almost everything, from personnel to presidential statements. But now — with the departures of Bannon and Reince Priebus, and the stricter processes put in place by the new chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly — colleagues say they are sticking more closely to their formal portfolios.”

Ivanka Trump’s China Ties Shrouded In Secrecy

September 26, 2017 at 7:05 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“It is no secret that the bulk of Ivanka Trump’s merchandise comes from China. But just which Chinese companies manufacture and export her handbags, shoes and clothes is more secret than ever,” an Associated Press investigation has found.

“In the months since she took her White House role, public information about the companies importing Ivanka Trump goods to the U.S. has become harder to find. Information that once routinely appeared in private trade tracking data has vanished, leaving the identities of companies involved in 90 percent of shipments unknown. Even less is known about her manufacturers.”

Ivanka Trump Used Personal Email for Official Work

September 25, 2017 at 3:34 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Ivanka Trump, the first daughter and adviser to the president, used a personal email address to communicate with a government official after her father took office,” Newsweek reports.

“The documents show that on February 28, Trump—identifying herself as Ivanka Kushner—emailed Linda McMahon, the administrator of the United States Small Business Administration, from a personal domain.”

“Trump became an unpaid federal employee in March. But multiple government ethics experts say she likely could have had access to a White House email account in February, given that she is first daughter. Radford, her chief of staff, had a White House email address at the time.”

Ivanka Trump Sits In for Father at G20 Table

July 8, 2017 at 7:57 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, took his seat at a Group of 20 meeting table in Hamburg, sitting in for the president when he stepped away for one-on-one meetings with world leaders,” Bloomberg reports.

“G-20 leaders are allowed to bring staff into the room for some of the meetings, and when other leaders stepped out during today’s session, their seats were briefly filled by others. Ivanka… But her presence at the table is the sort of blurring of lines — between family and official business — that Donald Trump is often criticized for, and it would be unusual for world leaders to have family members take their place at their table.”

Bonus Quote of the Day

June 12, 2017 at 9:11 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“It is hard, and there’s a level of viciousness that I wasn’t expecting. I wasn’t expecting the intensity of this experience — but this isn’t supposed to be easy. My father and his administration intends to be transformative and we want to do big bold things. We’re looking to change status quo, so I didn’t expect it was going to be easy. I think some of the distractions and some of the veracity, I was a little blindsided by on a personal level.”

“The omission stands in contrast to disclosures from other senior members of the Trump administration. In recent months, Trump’s top cabinet picks have revealed considerable art holdings as part of required financial disclosures.”

Ivanka Trump Uses Fake Quote In Her Book

May 8, 2017 at 11:43 am EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

On page 179 of her new book, Women Who Work, Ivanka Trump opens a section on how to “Lead with purpose from any level” with a fake quote from John Quincy Adams, the Washington Post reports.

She claims our sixth president said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”

“Anyone who has read even a single letter by JQA knows that this neither captures his worldview nor sounds anything like him. Ironically, the president tweeted this same fake quote two years ago.”
